Great little hidden gem. My family was looking for a more homey feel that doesn't feel like a big hotel. I loved the coffee cart they had on the weekends! Location is awesome, we got to downtown easily on our bikes. Santa Barbara doesn't allow airbnb so we were so glad to find a place that felt like staying in someones home.
We stayed at the Ocean Breeze Mesa House, one of the Old Yacht Club Inn properties, and it was terrific! It was plenty of room for 3 adults and 2 small children. The location was perfect for us: quiet, in a nice residential neighborhood, safe, close to the beach, and a very short driving distance (within a few minutes) to the main beaches and downtown area. It was also wonderful to be able to see the ocean from the house, and we could walk to shops and restaurants. The house itself was comfortable, clean, and very nicely decorated. The kitchen was especially nice. It had everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner (we ate lunch out) and had top notch appliances—very modern. The bedrooms were comfortable, and the living room and dining room were great places for the group to hang out. We also loved the back yard and the hammocks! All in all, this was a terrific place, and we hope to be able to visit again someday!
Felt like walking into a room at my mom's house. Very cozy and homey. May not be for everyone, but I was very comfortable.
Great location! Just 1 block from the beach. It's a nice change from staying at a hotel. Basic, but clean and comfortable. There's also a great little market nearby which helped us save some money on food and was convenient for stocking up on supplies for the beach.
We had a wonderful stay at this charming place! Steps from the beach, they provided beach chairs, umbrellas, bicycles, etc. Would definitely stay here again!
Comfortable, clean, and the staff was very helpful. We stayed in three rooms (Belle Caruso, Gallaher, San Miguel) for one night. All three rooms were like walking into a friends home. They were clean, and awaiting their guest(s) with complimentary snacks included....This is not a hotel type lodging but more like visiting Aunt Lisa at the lake house! A quick stroll down the street and you are on the beach...
Surprised others did not enjoy their stay as much as I did. My room was comfortable and large, with a nice attached sun room, but then I paid for a large room. It was clean and did not smell. I liked the old nautical motif, and the food was fine. I travel a lot for work and spend much time in Hiltons, Hyatts, Marriots, Four Seasons and so forth, so for me this was a delightful change from the vulgar faux elegance of those places.
Vintage historic place that is well maintained considering the age of the building. It is located about a block from the beach and near walking paths. Could use some grounds maintenance to spruce up it's appearance.
